Default What strings are you using on your Emerald X7?

I still have the original strings on mine, which I’m not so fond of. What are you guys using on yours?

I've been using Elixir Polyweb lights, as I find the heavier coating helps reduce the small body jangle sound a bit.

I've used both mediums and heavies (mostly PBs - currently using DR Veritas 13s). I have found that the string noise is reduced by using something heavier than light strings, and since the scale is short, I find that bending isn't difficult (of course, the fact that I'm a lefty playing righty may help in that regard, too!)

My X7 presently has Galli AJF1047 (.010-.047) Flat Wound Bronze 80/20.
They have a warm full bodied tone with long sustain, and no string squeak.
I like them very much.
However, on my last purchase (March 2018) they were reasonably priced at $10.29 per set, now they are $16.49 per set.
60.25% price increase

Is it only me n bsman using proper mens’ strings on these ?

It’s only a 24 inch scale, do your ears a favour; Martin PB 13-56 mediums sound great on the X7, , ,

as they do on the X20, dreads, resos and GSMinis ....

Yup, you guessed, I gets ‘em cheaper by the dozen.

D'addario EJ19 bluegrass. 12-56

The medium gauge strings on the lower strings really firm up the bottom end on my X7. Found them to be a big improvement over the ones that came on it.

I've been enjoying some custom gauge Curt Mangan PBs (12, 16, 23, 32, 42, 55). They sound warm but still clear.

The gauges were a big deal to me because the stock Daddario EJ17 set (13, 17, 24, 32, 42, 56) was just a little too thick for me, specifically for flat picking.

For reference, I used custom Mangans that are 11, 15, 22, 30, 40, 52.

I'm really OCD about string tension and will give up volume/project for playability.
