Hmm, looks perfectly playable to me. A lot of room to tweak the saddle.

That is my hope. The thing looks brand new still. Looking at what they are going for these days, I think I have a lot of room for repair cost. I'm hoping for the best and not worried about the worst.

That's what I'm hoping for but if not, I'm not worried about it. With the price that they are going for these days, there's room for repair. Should get here tomorrow and I'll know more then.

Maybe consider buying a Bob Colosi bone saddle to lower and fiddle with. Put the original in the case.
It might actually need a neck reset in, oh maybe 20-30 years. |

Never mind
I got the guitar this morning and let it sit in the shipping box for about 6 hours and just now opened it up. I can't see a thing wrong with this guitar. Don't detect any fret buzz anywhere. Set a steel ruler down the center of the neck and the end corner bumps just slightly less than halfway up the saddle. String tension is tuned. Definitely not underset. I'm not as knowledgeable as you guys but for my money, I'd have accepted this as new. Thank you so much for discussing options with me. The time wasn't wasted as you've served to help educate.

Well if that action was on a Stratocaster, most would be adjusting it but it doesn't look to bad for serious acoustic flatpicking.

Nothing amiss in that picture that I see. Enjoy your new guitar.

One thing that would concern me about resetting a Gibson neck is that the finish must be broken through to remove the neck. Many modern guitars have the neck and body fished separately before final assembly where Gibson's are finished as one unit after assembly. That kind of assembly is incredibly difficult to touch up after resetting the neck.
