Default This is pretty cool series of videos: Cover, reaction of original artist to cover...

So, I thought this was very cool.

Here's a cover of a song which is amazing by itself:

Here's the original artists reaction to it (beware...there's one foul word):

Then her reaction to the Brendon's reaction:

I thought the whole thing was really cool and really, really, well done cover too.

Yeah, I've been watching a lot of reaction videos lately. I watch a different demographic though; I'm Caucasian and an I have a son in middle school so I'm trying to get away from the whole "meme" thing on the Internet. I much prefer watching young African American Adults or British hipsters react to music of the 60s and 70s.

Ironically, Elvis, Led Zeppelin and Stevie Ray Vaughan get a LOTS of love. I feel like it's not politically correct to point out that their grandparents (and likely many generations before) listened to the original artists' renditions of some of the songs they were hearing. IIRC there were lawsuits over "You Shook Me" back in the day.

I also watched a couple react to Jimi Hendrix playing "Hey Joe" live in 1967 and they marveled at how "polite" the crowd was (holding their applause until the song was done) and how "relaxed" Jimi was. I had to chime in and explain to them what LSD is. I also told them that if they liked listening to the Blues then they had to listen to who SRV had idolized and later performed alongside with. I'm a GenXer; it's my job to interpret the Baby Boomers to the Millennials!

Of course, then Jimi started playing with his tongue and teeth and they were a little shocked lol. I imagine Jimi was too; ever play electric guitar in the rain? It can be shocking even without the electrolytes!

TBH I was surprised at how much people STILL love Elvis. The man has been gone for over 40 years now. That's a lifetime even to me!

I’m not 100% convinced these “reaction videos” aren’t staged...at least in some instances.
That being said, it is interesting to watch a vocals coach react to Ann Wilson or some other incredibly talented singer from the past. Among my favorites are the reactions from various people to Chris Stapleton singing his stuff.
As far as Elvis goes, my grandson is 18 and he loves Elvis, the Beatles and even some of the old country stuff. His generation seems a bit more open minded musically. I believe a lot of it has to do with the garbage that is on the radio today.
As an aside, his peers don’t listen to the radio much anyway. Streaming audio through their phones with lots of options is how they roll.
Man, it’s good to have a young person around.
