Shout out from me too. I've been playing and loving my new Model M for the last two weeks. It's the nicest instrument I've owned.

Some years back i was in the mkt
for a new mandolin. Northfield wasI
on my shortlist. I eventually went with
an Ellis A5 special. Tom Ellis is a luthier
in the austin area and was the original
collaborator with bill Collings in
building Collings mandos.
i too am enamoured with the northfield
archtop octave. I had a chance to play
a damaged one at greyfox fest. at their
booth. Even with a repaired crack
this demo sounded great. He wouldnt
sell it to me....
