Default Great clip: Fingerstyle on a 12-string

The player is Eiro Nareth and he's playing 'Interstellar' by Hans Zimmer.

I don't know what brand his guitar is but the 1st full strum at 2.10 is mighty powerful!

Nice! I’ve tried a bit of 12 string fingerstyle. It isn’t easy!

The guitar is a Baton Rouge AR11C/ACE-12. It's disclosed in the video notes when Show More is clicked on the youtube site.
Here are a couple of relevant links: https://www.thomann.de/gb/baton_rouge_ar11c_ace_12.htm
https://www.batonrougeguitars.com/ac...uditorium.html

In the 2nd link the path to the guitar featured in the video is Baton Rouge.com>Acoustic>Specials.
Scroll down to the second row. It's the 2nd guitar (1st 12 string).

That was impressive and really beautifully done. I don't know if I have ever seen anyone play a 12-string with a classical approach like that!

I don't particularly care for the sound of the 12-string -- it sounds a little tinny to my ears. But he did a beautiful job with this piece!

More than 8 million views on the video is also pretty amazing! Or 243,000 subscribers!

That is the kind of musical theme that really gets stuck in a person's head!

Among other things, Neil Jacobs does some nice fingerstyle on 12-strings.

On Bolero, he uses two same-sized strings for the A course. Without the lesser diameter string, he can make them lightly buzz against each other for a drone effect.

Here's an interesting one on 12 string, also fingerpicked:

Michael Fix plays Johann Sebastian Bach: "Toccata and Fugue in D minor, BWV 565"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tt1i8pDeCf4

Maybe this classifies as a 'classical approach' too.

Thanks for the guitar information and those clips guys.
The Neil Jacobs 'Bolero' clip got me wondering if this piece was the inspiration behind Peter Greens Fleetwood Mac 'Albatross'?

Here is a 12 string clip of End of the Innocence. Too bad the guy playing is a total loser.

[QUOTE=Bear Davis;6127349]Here is a 12 string clip of End of the Innocence. Too bad the guy playing is a total loser.

Judging from the black & white clip I think that was Bob Hite from Canned Heat.

Only kidding ... that was great!

For those interested .. that Baton Rouge 12-string being played in my original post sells for $349.00 in the US.https://www.thomannmusic.com/baton_r...11c_ace_12.htm

Smile 12 String Fingerstyle

Thanks for posting that 12-string fingerstyle arrangement of Interstellar. Eiro Nareth has an instructional video and tabs available for this song on his website if anyone is interested in learning this song like I am. I am always looking for more interesting music to play on a 12 string.

Thanks again!

First thing I noticed was the octave strings are above their respective main strings
Made me curious after some googling Looks to be a Baton Rouge
I think this one

... which would be the normal arrangement for just about every 12-string ever, except for Rickenbackers, which have always be the other way around.

I'd agree - looks like the same guitar.
