Default Installing Grover Tuners

Does anyone know if the Grover Sta-Tite 18.1 ratio tuning machines will fit on my Martin DSR-GC Custom. I understand I would have to drill an extra hole to attach them to the headstock but I wasn't sure if the measurement would allow them to fit comfortably on the headstock. I don't want to buy them and then have to return them if they it will not work.

You'll likely need conversion bushings, also available at StewMac.

If you call StewMac they can advise you about the conversion bushings if necessary. they were very helpful when I ordered a set of Sta-tites for my Larrivee LS-03 and I got the correct bushings as a result. You will love those tuning machines.

If you can use a drill and a caliper, it is not difficult.

Take off one tuner and use a caliper to determine the hole diameter.

Use that diameter to order the conversion bushings, if necessary.

The bushings are press fit. Fill the old holes if you can't use them with the new tuners. Drill as required, fit, string, tune, play.
