Closing up the body
Here are a couple pictures of the body being closed up:
There will be an arm bevel and a cut away comfort bevel which will be done in Macassar Ebony similar to the rosette. I am working out the additional flourishes for those bevels now. Thanks for viewing! Mark

Thanks Lonzo! It’s a push to get the lines that thin for the inlay. It took some trial and error. I feel I’ve got it down now. Mark

Thanks ukejon, here is a little more woodness goodness. I have the fretboard bound and radiused. The fretboard is nicely figured Macassar Ebony. It has Ebony binding and Maple purfling.
Happy New Year everyone! Mark

Love the way the woods always speak so clearly on your builds, Mark. Visually and sonically!

Thanks Dustin! I am fortunate to be able to work with such wonderful woods. I try hard to show them off both visually and sonically. It is a matter of identifying a woods potential and letting that be the guide.

Spectacular woods in this build. Will be following this closely. I have a tenor uke from The Tree (see avatar) with Lucky 12 spruce top. It is my pride and joy, as I suspect this will be for the lucky owner!

Looks great, Mark! I like the way the light inlays and accents pop against the darker woods.

Dark Redwood on dark Mahogany with dark Macassar Ebony, yeah it really set the stage for light colored wood inlays!

Binding
I've started gluing on the binding. I am using Macassar Ebony. The back gets black wood-Maple-black wood purfling lines on both the side and the back.
Ever wonder why I say "black wood" purfling? Why not Black Ebony if I am going to use wood instead of the commonly used black fiber? The black wood is dyed Birch. I use Birch because it is softer than Ebony. Purfling is supposed to add a cushion between the hard binding and the tonewoodand Black Ebony wouldn't do that. I also use it because it is really black. Thanks for viewing Mark
