Default 2020 Fredholm D28 Shadetop SOLD

When I acquired this guitar, the person I got it from, a longtime well-esteemed forum member, told me, "this is the best sounding dread I have ever heard." I was thinking "that's likely hyperbole, but considering how many guitars he's bought and sold over the years, it still must sound pretty special." I now can't say I disagree with his assessment. This guitar has a gorgeous tone, with the perfect mix of power, uniqueness, playability, everything. The only reason I am considering letting it go is having committed to purchasing a Pre-War dread, so this must go to fund it.

Thomas Fredholm is a Swedish luthier who makes exceptional high end instruments. His guitars rarely come available (this is #69). This has old Euro Spruce top with Indian Rosewood back and sides. You see the stellar sunburst. Ivoroid neck binding with Waverly's. It's finished with French polish, which lends itself to a terrific sound, though it's so thin it is easily dinged. This has a few minor blemishes, mut nothing of substance. It also appears as it was finished that Thomas or someone in his ship perhaps placed a small part of their hand on the final coat, so there is a small handprint. Easily resolvable should one desire, though it's never bothered me. 1 3/4 nut. It's also visually breathtaking, in a way my old iphone photos don't do justice.

I'm looking to net $SOLD for this one. I'd much prefer a cash sale, but might find myself open to the right trade, should I feel confident in moving whatever I took in trade on in order to fund this other purchase.

This one hurts to let go of -- I have no doubt whoever ends up with this will cherish it.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions. I'm in NC should anyone be local.

There was one Fredholm that spent some time at Gruhns (not sure if it was this one?) and I don't think "best" is too far of an exaggeration. Piano-like tones from a dreadnought!
