Ted made an amazing guitar. I had a T2X for a time and regret letting it go. These treasures will be harder and harder to come by.

Default Thompson appreciation bump

I have a '96 Thompson TM1 that I've played almost very day since I acquired it in 2012.

It didn't 'blow me away' the day I got it. But I've come to greatly appreciate the exceptional neck and playability. And the rock solid, balanced tone. I will never sell it.

I purchased this guitar from the OP a while back. Maybe the mods can close the thread?

It is a wonderful instrument and I wish you luck in finding one.

Default Thompson T2

I am sure you sold your T2 back in 2020. I’ve never played a 12 fret T2 but I’ve read very good reviews on this model. There’s a 12 fret T2 cut-away that’s been on Reverb for over 2 years. I’m looking for more of a bluesy fingerpicking ‘bark’ than warm and mellow, from your T2 experience, any thoughts on how the T2C might sound and play? It has a repaired crack but for the right sound I’d forgo that. Thanks for any thoughts.

I once owned a T2 and it did not have a bluesy bark. Perhaps Aspiring will chip in with his experience also. I now have a Furch Vintage 1 00 in spruce and rosewood. This one barks however you want it to.
