Yes, one of my pics worked it's way down into the pump. I now triple check all my pockets before washing paints.

It seems like everytime I take my clothes out of the dryer there is at least 1 pick falling out of the laundry. I am sure my washer does not have a problem with picks.

I find it's the Kyser capos that mess up my Maytag. Well, that, and the glass slides......

FYI, if you have any mechanical inclinations at all, washers and dryers are surprisingly straight-forward and easy to fix. There are online parts vendors that will provide extensive tech support if you buy the part from them, and of course there are a bazillion "how to" videos on youtube (use at your own risk).

You might save enough to put a dent in the cost of that new guitar...

You should NEVER use bleach when putting your guitar in a washing machine. And ALWAYS replace your guitar as soon as the pick that came with it wears out.

Hand washing a pick is a much better option than throwing it in the washing machine. If you MUST wash a pick in a washing machine, put it in a small laundry bag that has a zipper.

Excellent advice. Also works when washing children.

You're darn tootin'.

Our Whirlpool machine has twice in the last six months stopped mid cycle displaying an error code. A quick YouTube search revealed the problem and DIY solution. Some washers have a easily removable lower front panel below the front door. Behind that panel on the lower right is a water pump and filter with cleanout port. Unscrewing the filter has revealed an assortment of gunk including lot's of spare change, sea glass, Lego bits, chunks of a bic lighter and yes even a paper thin hideously disfigured Dunlop black nylon guitar pick.

If you think this is something to want to tackle yourself remember to reach inside the filter housing in case there's wee bits. Check the pump inlet as well maybe you`ll find that missing $50 Bluechip pick.

Good luck
