Have I missed something with TE on the gear front?
I've seen a few videos of TE playing his prized C-10; I think he only uses it in the studio, etc, because it hasn't been all bashed up like some of the Matons I've seen him play live.

I like the idea of a 12-fret 'C' series...that Florentine cutaway would make those upper frets almost as accessible as a 14-fret.

I had the chance to play this model at Martin Music in Memphis on Saturday. Out of a long "which is the best" session, it ended up being second to a Taylor 327e. However, it was a really outstanding guitar and to my eyes one of the prettiest guitars I've ever played. Even though the action was set very high it played easy. odd thing - the frets were dressed very low and flat topped; I've never seen any quite like it.

Very very comfortable to play, big tone, great cosmetics. I'd want to lower the action by half, but otherwise have to give this one full marks. I wish I had taken a picture; it was really striking.

Here is a video of TE performing. In it, he prefaces the performance with talking about Guitars For Vets and the story of him becoming an American citizen. Bruce's post was news to me, so I had to find out more. Here it is from TE himself...

If I see this guitar came out with no mic system.
It's right ?
Better than historic Emmanuel Maton guitar?
Certainly it's a good guitar and we'll made , but different in sound. Probably better in acoustic than Maton that is better amplified, but I like it anyway.

Like most other guitars - not anything against Larrivees ( use to own one )
Its not the guitar but the player - when i hear someone say im buying this guitar or that becasue ( fill in the name ) plays one - Daaah

Tommy could play a 10 dollar flea market guitar and make it sound good ( of course with a decent set up ) so i think all of this is silly --
and misleading to folks who are easily lead astray !

Sorry to sound so glum -just tired of all the commercialism to sell stuff , this is great or that is great is a scam. Play what you have and get good at it !
Took me along time to realize that I make the music , not the guitar -its just a tool .

Its nice to have a nice guitar -but how many do we need ?
Thou I'm guilty of this myself -that will be addressed soon !

You’re right, but I like to know if what of two has the best acoustic sound for clarity, volume, etc... This is indipendent form player.
Infant many say tha Maton ebg808 te is not the best in acoustic sound or even have a poor or bad acoustic sound

I've had several Larrivees and think they are very nice and great deals. The Tommy is the best sounding one I've played. I generally don't like Rosewood, but that one just works, likely due to the bridge location, sweetens it up and balances things a bit more than the typical harsh rosewood scoop.
