Default Larrivee coming out with a 12 fret Tommy Emmanuel signature guitar

J. M. Larrivee recently posted on the larrivee forum that the official release should be in late September.

The guitar is a tribute signature edition C-03R 12 fret neck joint (C-03R TE) with Florentine cutaway and signed label.

Sounds like a winner.

I have never seen Tommy performing anywhere with a Larri, have any of you folks?. I have always seen him with various Maton's or his Kalamazoo KG14.

This seems like a very odd couple arrangement, unless TE has started playing Larrivee guitars recently.

Have I missed something with TE on the gear front?

It seems Larrivee made TE a guitar quite a few years ago, (recorded with it, I seem to recall reading), they do have history, this new one is a takeoff( so to speak) of that guitar.
I’m looking forward to it.

Tommy became an American citizen last month so maybe he's changing things up?

Well that ya have it!

Big BIG score for Larrivee!!!

I wonder what made Tommy decide to change after all these years, he has always been such a strong proponent for Maton guitars and especially their pickup system within the guitar.

Wow...

He’s not leaving Maton. They are still his main guitar for gigs. He also bought a Pre War j45 model a year or so ago from Lowe Vintage, so he’s not averse to other brands. He has a long history with Jean Larrivee, as I understand it, and this is simply a tribute guitar similar to the one Jean made for him (though less blingy).

I have seen TE perform with a very pretty 12-fret Larrivee. Tommy's comments in the video below that Jean Larrivee gave this guitar to him.

I’m hoping this TE C-03 will have the compound radiused neck, if so, I’m in line for one.

If you go to YouTube to view the videos, it shows the first video published in 2014 and the 2nd video published in 2008.....I'm thinking this may be some old news

Not old news. They are making an -03 series 12 fret C (L with Florentine cutaway) in conjunction with Tommy as a Tribute model. John Larrivee JR confirmed this on the Larrivee forum.

The videos are showing the custom Larrivee that TE was given by Jean Larrivee, in which the new model will be loosely based.

Yep - you're right.....I should have clarified. I meant Tommy's relationship with Larrivee, not the new signature guitar.

Default Great TE interview

I just came across this interview with Tommy .. He covers his childhood, songwriting, life in the music business and so much more..

Around the 45 min mark they get into gear. I never knew he used to endorse Takamine !

Yes TE not only played and endorsed Takamine, he also recorded much of his earlier albums with them. He still owns and plays them, but keeps them at his home. He still loves a good Tak... Maton adopted Takamine's six-disc peizo sensors, Palathetic pickup technology; part of the reason they sound so good!
