I've got my list of actual Dylan songs started. This is fun! And I just inter-library loaned The Songs He Didn't Write: Bob Dylan Under the Influence by Derek Barker that catalogs over 500 other songs that he's performed over the years. Maybe a couple in there that I know or want to learn.

I liked that! Especially liked the picking pattern. You've got the vibe going on there, too.

Default Farewell Angelina

This is my daughter, not me (well, I guess you could say 50% me?), so don't enter me in the drawing.

But I thought I'd contribute in the spirit of sharing, which is the whole point of these threads (she needs to get her own membership here!):

Thanks, wcap; your daughter has quite a voice and accompanies herself very well... but you could have at least told us her name! How old is she? I enjoyed hearing her do this song...

Here's my version of "Shelter From The Storm"; not a perfect take, but the feel is there... on my Goodall Grand Concert (redwood over mahogany), sitting in the corner of my dining room this evening...

Hard to choose from all Bob Dylan's incredible catologue... SO many great songs! Hope you enjoy this one...

She's 18. She started playing guitar to accompany her singing this past fall. It's great fun having another guitar player in the house now (e.g. I finally have a guitarist to accompany my banjo playing!).

(By the way, if you like her voice, check out her most recent project, where you can hear her x 4: http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...d.php?t=343812 )

This above recording of Farewell Angelina, incidentally, was what prompted me to get a K&K installed in that guitar. Her voice is so strong that it is hard for her to get a good strong guitar track that is not largely dominated by her singing (the problem being that the singing picked up by the guitar microphone picks up a lot of ugly, boxy sounding room reverb, so including too much of that track degrades the quality of the vocal sound in the mix).

I enjoyed your recording of Shelter from the Storm, by the way!

I guess the poll wasn't really closed out - it now shows Dylan with 31 votes, British Invasion 35 votes and old country @ 34 votes.
This is utterly outrageous! I insist on a recount by the National Council of Unofficial Non-Competitive Small Prize Guitar Polls. Due process has clearly been violated. Already this week I've been in touch with Keith Richards and Peter Noone (Herman's Hermits) and they insist that they have earned the right to hear acoustified versions of their music. And my guess is that for the Classic Country side the great Merle Haggard will invoke the spirits of Patsy Cline, Hank Williams, and Grampa Jones to stage a fight on the validity of the numbers as well. In any event, the very foundations of the AGF democracy are at stake here. I presume litigation is the only way to go......

By the way, the submissions for Mr. Dylan so far are fantastic.

John, that is a great version of the song, better than the original, IMO. I envy your right hand technique. Did you use the internal mics on the Tascam, and if so, where did you place it to get such great sound? I have the DR-07 and have never got very good sound out of the internal mics, so I use external mics.

Here's my go at Licence to Kill. I prefer the version Tom Petty did at Dylan's 30th Anniversary concert.

Hope you enjoy it
