Went to an Irish Bar / Restaraunt tonight.....
The place was packed. There was a solo guitar player/singer performing and doing a good mix of Irish and folk songs. As he was finishing up he announced the next act would be setting up as soon as he cleared the “stage”. We were about to pay the bill and in walked eight bagpipers and four drummers. They put on a great performance. What an enjoyable evening.

Ahhhhh......... St. Patrick's Day Saturday (a day early actually). I stay clear of the downtown area on St. Patty's Day. Too many out trying to prove how ignorant they can be. Safer and saner at home.

Quote:
In my 20s, my Sunday nights were spent at a bar in Hartford, CT, where the entertainment was a local Irish band. We would sing and dance and drink until last call, which was at 10:30. Any effect of alcohol had worn off by then, leaving us ready to start our Mondays and the work week. Ah, youth! Glad you had a great time! Rick

Love the Irish music and Celtic instruments at Dargan's in my hometown.
Fast rhythms! Maybe a day for DADGAD later on my Abaco Green A55E PRS SE? Last edited by tippy5; 03-17-2019 at 11:44 AM. |
