Tonedexter meet, any thoughts?
I was hoping someone would suggest a regional meetup to discuss all matter TD, possibly bring along some nice mics and a small PA to explore training techniques and pool resources.
No-one seems to be proposing this so I thought I would (Manchester, UK). What do you think should be included in such an event and can you see anything to avoid? All theoretical at the minute but that could change.

I think its a very good idea to share experiences and advice about the Tonedexter, but I don't think I would travel to the UK to do it. I have found the comments on this forum very helpful along that line.
Because Audiosprockets just did an operating system update (easy to do) I went back after the update and redid three or four wavemaps and I found that with a little more patience (and also now that I am so used to the device after a year of using it) two of the new wave maps were an improvement, worth the effort. But I applaud the idea and the effort of getting together and comparing notes and different ways to use a Tonedexter. It is a fascinating and very useful tool for the guitar performer.

James May is a really nice guy, and I’m sure you’d enjoy having him do a presentation on both the Tonedexter as well as his Ultra Tonic pickup. He did a presentation for us at the Northern Cal Association of Luthiers (NCAL) and it was well received, and he easily addressed the questions raised by the luthiers, as well as questions from players. The trick is figuring out how to get him across the pond -

Not quite the same as a user meet, but Audio Sprockets will be at Summer NAMM this year July 18-20 in Nashville, which is kinda centrally located—ish.
If anyone can attend and would like a guest badge, please PM me.

Idle thoughts:
We may not manage this in the near future but a realistic template would make it more likely to happen. Further suggestions welcome.

I don’t have a Tonedexter but...
...have been watching developments with interest. The demonstrations I’ve seen are very impressive.
So I’d be up for a meet/event or failing that an opportunity to try it out! I’m based just outside of Nottingham. |

Thank you very much... right now I am working on adding a sample based rythm box In my IR pedal. So I don't work on IRs anymore... sometimes I wish I had the time to build a huge IR library. It would not take too much time. If 10 AGF members with Zoom H5s went into shops and try half a dozen guitars every week end. We could build such a library in no time. But the truth is most people don't even hear the piezo quack.. All the standard Martins, Gibsons, Taylors, Yamaha, Takamine... 2 mins per guitar would be enough. People would then be able to use any IR pedal they want. Ex: The new Torpedo Cab M enables blending.
