Years ago when I was younger and more agile (read "thinner"), I took a swimming pool-based WW kayak class. I throw up on airplanes so clearly practicing consecutive eskimo rolls was not going to sit well. Let's just say I was very happy when flat water kayaking became popular because I loved paddling on calm waters without having to learn how to roll. If I fall out, so be it.....

The only time it ever used to bother me was when practicing as many rolls as I could complete in a row as fast as I could go. Certainly wasn't an issue at 39. Playing on the Colorado in the Grand Canyon in 1996. |
