Jackson Browne 2019 Tour
Any JB fans out there? He is hitting the road soon and he has a lot of dates this go around.
All shows are east of the Mississippi, though, with maybe one exception. Tour Page I have only heard good things about his shows.

Apparently he is still living in the past. Can't help educational moments telling us how things are and should be. Hey bro that was 50 years ago, please join us in 2019.

Well, I'm not 100% sure what you're alluding to, but I actually am quite surprised at how much of what's happening in the world right now, and especially in the US, are things that I thought we had left behind us and learned from. Apparently not, and if JB feels he needs to share an occasional reminder, I don't find anything wrong with that.

People are hating on JB, I think!? Probably jealous of his guitar collection, as am I.

I have always had mixed feelings about Jackson Browne. Saw him back in the late 90's. I really enjoy some of his stuff, but most of it sounds the same and a lot of it is depressing. His live performance got boring quickly.
I am fairly familiar with his life story and I think he was born an "old soul." As far as the relevance of his songs in 2019...I'll leave that for others to discuss. I'm the wrong person to talk about that. I lived my late youth through the sixties. Once was enough.

Those lamenting his "living in the past"
The musicians who die young don't get that ability. Those who don't die young are criticized for playing songs from the past that their fans demand they play.
How does one fix that conundrum? He is what he is. You like Jackson Browne, or you don't. I 'spect that's fine by him.

To clarify, I really like his music and have seen him live. He and others from back in the day should keep playing and touring. Over the years these folks seem to live in the past during concerts. I don't mind a few political comments or lectures on how we should think. You know what to expect before buying tickets. But some of the bye gone days need to recognize its 2019 and recognize some things have changed....for the better. If Jackson came to a local venue, I'd try to see him.

I saw JB live for the first time last year. I was a bit concerned that I may have spent good money to get a political sermon, but that was not the case. Some comments let the crowd knew where he stood on an issue here and there, but there was none of the inflammatory rhetoric I was half expecting given today's climate.
I would go again if the timing is right. CK

I saw Jackson a few years ago. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am a Jackson fan.
What I really dont understand is, how can someone go see him and find him boring. Why did you bother? With it all sounding the same and depressing? |
