Default What you up to today?

Good morning! Going to Salmon Days today with Wife, Brother and friend. Its a celebration of fall and the salmon run in Issaquah creek. Lots of food and crafts.
We look forward to it every year.

Boring day for me.
Online searching and applying for jobs.
State benefits ended, so no more income.
Getting really nervous, nobody is calling me
in for interviews. Only got 1 interview in months
of looking, but they chose another candidate over me.
So, back to looking.

A day off for me. I had my usual leisure morning and had my pound of bacon for breakfast Then I got cleaned up and played some tunes and worked on some songs. Then I headed out to Stone Park in the Iowa Loess hills for a hike. That was a spiritual rejuvenation. Beautiful fall morning. I had some lunch of left over pork shoulder I cooked last night. Put in a load of wash and started a new sculpture. And I have a good start on it now. I'm taking a break here and then some more tunes on the git box.

I have been struggling to replace linear bearings on CNC machine today.
But due to very limited work space and unexpected (but welcomed) visitors progress has been very slow.

Will finish tomorrow after Suzuka Grand Prix.

Took my Aussie for agility training, she's responding so well. Watched Sir Pauls' "Rockshow" (loved the Venus and Mars Album) Took my wife and mother out for a great meal (40th wedding anniversary, we were 18 and 21 when wed) and now am too stuffed to move. Probably gonna veg and watch some Youtube physics (Neil Degrasse Tyson and Brian Cox). Maybe get the guitar out.

Well it's Sunday already down here & lost an hour (Daylight savings kicked in last night) so yesterday worked 4 hrs in the morning then took the Ducati for a spin around some of the rural roads surrounding this town in the afternoon with a friend on his VFR. Unfortunately kangaroos are such a hazard at the moment & have to constantly scan the verges for any movement, the amount of road kill out there is quite sad.

Today I plan to build up a couple more raised beds, get another trailer load of topsoil for them, more spring planting in the ones already up, visit my daughter all the while leaving the TV on to keep an eye the Bathurst 1000 race, the pinnacle of Australia's touring car championship. Played my Martin for about an hour earlier today.

I have a short set to play at a local country music gig for charity today, then like Saxonblue, I'll be settling down for the end of the Bathurst 1000.

Today will be my second performance with my new guitar that I built recently, but unlike last night at my Mum's 70th birthday party, I won't have a full band behind me, just the guitar and my voice!

Went apple picking with the lovely Mrs. H. Once a year we go to an orchard that has "Fortune" apple which are just wonderful. Bought about 20lbs of them! Also downloaded a couple of old albums from the original Ultravox! band which came out in 1977. They were the soundtrack for my first divorce (possibly part of the cause). Some of the those old songs have really held up well for me. Probably won't play them for the lovely Mrs. H!

Who's birthday is it Tom?

I spent 7 hours packing up my house and just completed a 5.5 hour drive. Going to enjoy the week-end now.
