Default Carl Miner tabs

I just got the tablature to my all-time favorite Carl Miner TNAG demo video and it’s a bear to play for someone who’s just venturing into this style of playing! I’m GOING to master it though. I’ll never have a tenth of the finesse or sound that he puts in these demos, but I’m going to finally be able to play it at some point down the road. I’ve probably watched this demo 100+ times and I’m blown away by it every single time. One of the best sounding acoustics I’ve ever heard!!

Carl might be in the top 5 very best acoustic players I've ever heard..he's right there with Chris Eldridge and Julian Lage in the tone and cleanliness department. I'd never heard this one until now, absolutely stunning little piece. That OM is no slouch, either.

If you have tabs of anything that Carl has improvised, he would greatly appreciate you sharing them with him. Had I an archive of things I played that I couldn't accurately recall, it might rival the Library of Hadrian.

Hi Tnfiddler,

Man that guitar and Carl's playing is so good. I am wondering how you got tablature for this piece?

I'm going to have to sit with this piece and play with the video until I get something close to what Carl is doing down on the guitar. That is wonderful!

Best of luck to you on this!

- Glenn

This looks to be a fairly accurate transcription:

Can anyone fill me in on Carl's history. I heard him only when he started doing the TNAG demos. Does he tour etc. It sounds like he has not recorded much?

He's a Nashville studio musician. Records a ton. Just not under his name. There's a thread here a while back about him. Looks like he won some big bluegrass flatpicking competitions back in the day. Pretty versatile player.

Yeah...I saw an old photo of him at the Galax Fiddler's Convention.
