Default Multiple Guitar Owners - Which one are you going to play today?

The absolute joy and plain fun of multiple guitar ownership is: "Which one will I play now?" (especially since I gave up ciggies all those years back!).

Me, today, in a minute - my 2002 Gibson J50 brought back to life and a pickup added by my great luthier a couple of years back. Well, that is my plan....and I am going to start with Mississippi John Hurt tunes, here are some Tabs if you are interested - just click on his name in the song for other songs....:

https://www.songsterr.com/a/wsa/miss...ed-tab-s423028

And you, what will you play? Which guitar? What tunes?

(It is kind of like that Menulog kind of ad where they pick all different dinners to get delivered! Except you got a guitar to select!)

Today, it’s my Emerald X20-7. This guitar has been a real challenge for the two years I’ve owned it - adding that extra string has been nowhere near as easy as I thought it would be. Carpal tunnel surgery in both hands has not exactly helped.

Yet, every time I pick it up, I’m reminded how glorious it sounds. And it’s great therapy, post-surgery.

Joined a new band a few weeks ago. Have a gig coming up. We concentrate on older crowds than most. First up, Gibson j15. Songs were lying eyes, take it easy, wish you were here, bad moon rising.

Then to an sg special for wicked game.

Then to keys for
Last train to Clarksville
Hang on sloopy
The twist
Last kiss
One way or another
Neon moon
Dock of the bay
Dreams
Tennessee whisky
Have you ever seen the rain
Sweet Caroline
These boots were made for walking

Probably others I'm forgetting

I put Jackson Browne's classic "Late for the Sky" on the old boombox in my music room and played along on the Taylor GS Mini bass I just got last week.

Great fun, but my bass playing skills are pretty rusty. I'll do it again tomorrow. Love this little bass!

Great question - when I get up in the middle of the night, I usually play electric and use my Mustang Micro which is killer….I’m a tele guy and play those most of the time….

Tonight - I am going to play my reso….haven’t played her in a few days and going to get some slide and FS licks in before everyone retires……then if I haven’t fallen asleep, going to play the slope shoulders…..my larger 12 fretters are calling…

I used to tune up both my guitars and swap back and forth between them during my morning practice time. But recently I’ve switched to playing one for a week or so then moving on to the other. So the one in my lap everyday these days is my 2021 Collings D1T-SB Torrified.

Sorry no photos; but today has been my David Gilmour Stratocaster. Tonight will be my Huss and Dalton DS-M and my Collings D1AT.

My goldtop P-90 LP hasn't seen action in a while - it comes out as soon as I log out...

I usually grab a couple - for a little variety. Today it was a Bourgeois 00 and a Breedlove 00.

That is a beautiful guitar!

Well, therein lies the rub! Ask a centipede which leg goes first and it won't go anywhere that day. Why wouldn't I, with a collection of equally nice guitars not react similarly? Hmmmmmmmm...
