Searching for a new one.
Longtime lurker first time poster. Looking for a new guitar. My main acoustic is a 1991 Martin D28-LSV. Bought it new, it’s awesome but the left hand is starting to get achy and I want a short scale. Other guitar is a Taylor 514 but that’s living with my son. I bought that one used out of necessity when I needed something with electronics for a steady church gig. Willing to go up to $3,200 for a 000-28 but also wondering if it might be nice to get something with different wood. Also looking at a 412R but not sure. Wouldn’t mind saving a few bucks either if something sounded and felt good.
My ear is so used to that Martin that almost everything sounds inferior. Any suggestions? |

A lot of players like the 000-18.

000-18 if you want to stay with Martins and go to a smaller body. J45's are short-scale too but are roughly dreadnaught size.

I agree with 000-18. They're awesome.

Definitely on the radar. Would like to find one to play rather than order online.

Don't rule out a J-45 though. Jumbo size but darned if it isn't a comfortable guitar to play. Try one, they shouldn't be hard to find.
