Default Have you fulfilled your guitar collection fantasies?

Most of them, at one time or another - still looking for a nice all-acoustic/non-cutaway 18" archtop (Gibson Super 400/300, Epiphone Emperor/Super Deluxe, D'Angelico/Stromberg, etc.), a clean/well-maintained '60s Gibson EB-3, and a Guild F-612...

I only have two acoustic guitars. Sixty percent of the time I think I have all that I will ever want or need. The other forty percent of the time I think about selling the electric guitars I no longer play, (and keep around just in case), and buying a used Collings D2H Adirondack Traditional or perhaps a Collings D1A Traditional.

After 40 years I am left with four acoustics, two electrics, and three amps. Pretty satisfied.

There are a couple of cool things I'd like, but obviously not enough to go out and buy them.

I have 6 nice electric guitars and 3 nice acoustic guitars. Twenty-some years ago, that would be my guitar collection fantasy. I don't have or ever had a Les Paul Standard, which is something that I always would have liked to have. Now that I can afford one, it really wouldn't add much to what I already have so I will do without it.

So, within reason, my fantasies are fulfilled.

For where I play, and quite frankly, my skill level, my new Martin 000-18 is more guitar than I could ever need, or dream about owning.

Every day that I take it out of the case, or just sit and stare at it, I count my blessings for being lucky enough to own it and to appreciate what a wonder it is.

I have enough, perhaps too many & don't plan more acquisitions anytime soon. Doesn't mean I don't have anymore itches to scratch though.

Occasionally think my collection would look more complete with a sunburst in there, maybe a J45, an SJ200 or a Guild 12 string.....or maybe all 3 lol.... stop it. .

My electrics (strat & thinline tele) are both sunburst, that'll do for now.

Have you fulfilled your guitar collection fantasies?

Probably getting close; very happy where I am now.

Would be interested in an X braced Taylor 552ce 12 fret 12 string for a decent price, but not actively searching.

My 'lottery' guitar would be a PRS Custom Tony McManus signature guitar.

Some other items would catch my eye if I spotted them, like a new Taylor short scale Grand Symphony (the new one with the sound hole) , but I haven't played one yet.

All in all, pretty content, maybe a couple too many.

Don

I have better guitars than my ability will ever be able to catch up to. That being said I probably won’t ever have my fantasy collection. I’m all right with that. I have a better collection than I ever thought i would.

I'm happy with what I have, but I'd love to add a Martin OM-42 to my collection someday.

I have a lot of guitars, probably too many since I only play a few on rotation.

I’d really like a Sobell and/or a Taran though...

I'm way passed my younger fantasies and am in fact trying to sell at least three guirars. OTOH, the Taylor AD27 has caught my eye...

I'm saving this pic for when my wife complains I have too many [emoji38]

The current stable at my house is pretty great.

Eko Ranger 12 string - my first guitar
Vintage D28 - my #1
Bourgeois JOMC - fingerstyle cutaway
Goodall Rosewood Standard - my oops baby
Eastman E10D & E10OM - a great pair

I need to get them all together for a pic!

Nope. Although I have finally become “content” with the two acoustics & one electric that I have...I want a particular Collings before I settle down.

Maybe in this next year...
