Default Excellent new Homespun lesson by Eric Skye

I was searching around the Homespun site last week to find some approachable jazz songs for a non-jazz player. I stumbled across a great new lesson by Eric Skye (https://www.homespun.com/shop/product/blues-for-freida/). The lesson breaks down his great song Blues For Frieda in a really approachable and comprehensive manner and gives you the tools to really expand on it over time. I spent my entire weekend working through it.

The lesson is brand new and Homespun hasn’t even started promoting it yet, but I highly recommend it!

This one is a great way to try without being forced to dive too deeply into the rabbit hole. The song is actually a blues and he only slightly ‘jazzes” up a few chords. I am primarily play blues and found this to be a easy and low commitment on-ramp.

Cool. I remember when Eric first put up a video of him playing that here, and then I think made a handwritten copy of the tab available. I'm still a bit new to finger style but this looks like a RELATIVELY doable piece, or at least parts of it. I may try to dive into this, although it would be a real stretch for me... Not because it's "jazz", just because I think its a really pretty piece...

Bruce,

I bought it.

Now I have to put one of my guitars into standard tuning
