Kewl! 5 seconds - just like on TV

In this case I know of a shop that can be cleaned and refreshed with paint in 10 minutes. Are you game to try that?

I just finished reading this thread through again. Beautiful work, Tim!

Good to see you back in action. Those "no shop time" doctors' orders seem to go on forever!

Welcome back.

Tim, are you cutting the truss rod slot freehand?

I was watching O'Brien Luthier Tips Du Jour videos on YouTube, and he mentioned his own "high tech glue spreading device," which seems to work very much like yours. No wonder you guys make great guitars with this kind of tooling available!

Tim, awesome work! I use the same glue spreading device, unfortunately I also have the now banned device that cleans the glue from the spreader. It's pre-moistened, but the disposal system cannot tolerate the glue anymore!

Okay, even by my standards, that's just wrong. And I have LOW standards!

No I am not. Just cleaning up the ends which need to be a skosh wider for the truss rod nuts.

Whew, OK, thanks. Cutting a straight slot like that free hand would qualify as a superpower.

I was going to seal up my work area with some expanding foam in order to control humidity. Had a second thought and ran out to get some acetone just in case things go wrong.

Smile Yikes

Please do not glue yourself to yourself again. I have done that and it is not fun, tho it could be worse...

Haste makes waste, etc...

Cheers

Paul

The worst experience I had was when I glued a K&K pick up in place and my finger was stuck to one of the PU discs. That was a pretty scary situation Unfortunately I did loose some skin over that incident. I've since learned to wear gloves while doing that task.
