Although I have a few guitars to choose from I really tend to focus on a single instrument pretty much exclusively for long periods of time.
My current "favorite" is my homebrew size 0 a hog slot head 14 fretter. Why? I made a laundry list of everything I would like in an "ultimate" acoustic and then built what I wanted. This one has been on the exclusive list for the last year. I posted all the details as well as a full construction plan for this here on AGF when it was completed. |

There are some very nice guitars pictured here. My favorite is my GS Mini. It is an only child, so it has to be I guess. One day I might get another and have to make a choice. I can't post pictures, but it looks like every other mahogany GS Mini.

Sonically, I'd give it to my Taylor GS Mini-e Koa, but my recent purchase of a Gretsch Jim Dandy really tickles me. If only it had more than 12 frets. But truthfully, the one guitar that is my all-around FAVORITE, is my KLOS carbon fiber travel guitar!

That would be my 1997 Martin D-45V that I bought new at Gryphon. 24 years now of sonic bliss!
Very lightweight build, incredible tone, plays effortlessly! |

This question caught me at a time when I have been asking myself if my trusty SJ200 has been somewhat upstaged by my new Martin 000-D13e. I have finally dialed it in and finished my little custom touches and I haven't handled my Gibson in over a month. Although a lower end Martin, I find it to be an amazing guitar and very playable with action to die for right out of the box. It is now officially my go-to guitar, and with a Tonewood amp - absolutely amazing. So I would definitely have to say my Martin 000-D13e is my favorite guitar right now.

Geee !!!
As most of the posts here triggered some drooling, mine is still my Martin OOO-18 (2014) for its comfort, playability and angels calling sounds !

Easy call - I only have one. Martin CEO-7. Minus a pick guard, plus an arm-rest. It handles everything I throw at it - a great strummer, a great fingerpicker, always sounds great. Plays like buttah, wonderful (to me) Mod-V neck profile. Fits me like a glove in every way and after having it nearly a year, it's sounding better and better. I sold my others after I'd had this a little while. I also have a cheap Alvarez that lives 3000 miles away at my daughter's house for when we visit her (assuming we'll get to again someday). But I don't count that one because I never see it. And it would never win over the CEO-7 as "favorite" anyway.

The above is a 2015 Martin 00-28 custom with Adirondack top. Superb ,well balanced tone and loud for its size.Light in weight . 1 and 3/4 inch neck with 2 and 5/16 string spacing enables finger style playing. This guitar continues to sound better as it gets played. |

My favorite acoustic guitar? That's tough. I have 3 at the present time (Taylor 150e, Taylor AD27, and Eastman PCH1-OM), and I like them all. If you base it upon which one gets played the most, it would be the Taylor 150e, since it is my church band guitar, and since I play it at every mass, and spend several hours on Saturdays, practicing the music that will be played for the upcoming weekend's masses.
But, I also very much like my Taylor AD27, and Eastman PCH1-OM, and for non-church related music, those are the guitars I reach for. Which one I reach for depends upon what I want to hear sound-wise that the day. As it is though, I haven't been playing those two guitars much lately. I've been working long hours in recent times, and by the time I get home from work, shower, and finish eating supper, it's well after 8 pm, and having been up since 4:30 am, I've been burned out, with not much energy available for playing guitar. Taylor 150e (with a Blueridge BR162 I no longer have) Taylor AD27 Eastman PCH1-OM

My favorites of mine are my Avalon (center), Guild D-120 (left center) and the Larrivee (right center). I play mostly Celtic music now so my J-45 and Martin mostly sit and listen. Once in a while I'll take them out. I should set aside an hour or two a week to play the Gibson and Martin though. I included a better photo of the Avalon. The Avalon is like a Taylor on steroids. The Guild plays over its head, rings out nicely and is balanced and the Larrivee has a rich, mellow tone to it.

I own a SCGC Tony Rice and a Beard MA-6 reso. I think it’s fair to say that both models are pretty much universally respected. As good as they are (and they are great indeed), the best I own is my McIlroy A25c. It’s just a magical instrument. It has a unique sound, it feels great to hold, craftsmanship is terrific, and it looks beautiful. What more could you want?
