I have a Guild GAD 30R and have always felt that it had roomy string spacing. Just measured it and found it to be 2 3/8". That's with a 1 3/4" nut width and a 25.5" scale. I think it's a very good sounding guitar and if you're patient you can usually find them in the $500 to $600 range on Reverb.

I just picked up a Loar L0 18 VS , an L00 lookalike 00 size, but with a 15" lower bout, and about 000/ OM thickness 1 13/16" nut width , 2 5/16 saddle spacing, 24 3/4 scale solid red spruce top, laminate back and sides burst finish like the old Gibsons.... the neck has a slight v shape which I have quickly come to really admire! Neck profile is not chunky at all, so comfortable, and the guitar sounds really nice! I got mine for $259 used and couldn't be happier! |

You can buy lots of Guild Westerly series for 500 new with a wide string spacing.

I've looked at Guild Westerly guitars and the M140 has 2 1/4" string spacing but I don't know of any other models that have a wider spacing than that. But I'd love to hear more details if you could point me to any.

Shoot you're right, they're 2 1/4, not 2 3/8.
