Shortly after the beginning of the pandemic I gave an Epiphone Masterbilt AJ-500 to a young man at our church who had just lost his job and was going to have to leave Alaska. I figured he could at least have a new-to-him instrument to help carry him through a tough time.

I gave away a stand I'd made. The ones I make now are prettier and a bit better designed and I now have more than I need. I'd give her another if she had a need.

Just before Covid I gave a friend a TC Polytune that she liked because it was white. I have always preferred the black ones. She was very happy.
About a year and a half ago I went through all of my collection of strings, straps, tuners, picks, capos and some instructional DVDs - packed up the spares and donated the items to Guitars4Vets. The social worker who runs support groups at the vet center was thrilled. He had invited me to come to the center and participate in a song circle but before we could get it scheduled, Covid hit. So, I am looking forward to being able to join them in the near future.
Best,
Jayne

Nice thread--very thoughtful and generous folks here! It reminds me that I have a BlueChip thumbpick for my brother when I see him in June.

Thought I'd try a set of 12's on my 000-15 to try and get some volume and sustain out of it.

Bought 5 sets.

Didn't work.

Sold guitar

Sent remaining 4 sets to a friend in Idaho to try.

Donated a couple of Yamaha FG series dreads to Guitars for Vets, a very worthwhile charitable organization.

I took my first trip in over a year to deliver to my new grandson an all mahogany OM I built for him (13 yr old). My son mentioned that he would like to learn to play guitar with him as a bonding experience, so I gave him my first dread build. Then I felt guilty about not bringing something for my daughter in law, so I brought her a ukulele I built but never play. Cases, tuners, picks, straps, strings, chord chart, and a beginners how to book included. After only a week my grandson has 6 chords and 4 songs down. Handing the instruments off was one of my favorite things I’ve ever done.

My niece plays ukulele. She and her brother wanted to learn the guitar.
I gave them a Hohner acoustic (was my beach/camping guitar) along with
pics, tuner, capo, stand, case and chord book. That's when I realized how much stuff I had and started to downsize.
