Recently I gave a customer's family a pretty nice tenor Uke. There were 6 kids taking turns strumming and playing by the time I left. I try to have some cheap (Snark) tuners that I can give to friends. and the gift that keeps on giving....
Batteries for the Snark Tuners.

Gave my niece my Epiphone Masterbilt DR-500M. I let her borrow it a little over a year ago as she wanted to learn to play. She's come a long way in a year and is much better than I was after a year. I decided to give it to her the last time we got together to play and sing. My other niece recently took up guitar as well.

Proud uncle !

a month ago gave my Granddaughter a stratocaster, an old amp with built in distort, tuner, patch cord and taught her back in black....she had an acoustic for 2 years but lost interest, so my goal of inspiring her worked, shes been banging on it lot and will eventually come around to the acoustic side hopefully

I sent some strings and picks recently to one of the AGF's most active and enthusiastic members.
He posted a thread about it which was really nice too.

One of my friends had their guitar stolen. I gifted him a Big Baby Taylor that I was no longer enamored with. Good friend, made him happy and it's better the guitar gets played.

My adult daughter expressed a renewed interest in playing recently and how she enjoyed playing my guitars when she lived at home, so I gifted her a Breedlove Pursuit, a rechargeable string winder, a set of strings, a tuner and a gig bag.

The gift for me is knowing how much enjoyment she'll get out of it.

Gave an inexpensive ukulele to a guy wanting to learn. He was borrowing one and I wanted him to have his own.

My elderly Yamaha FG512 12-string to an old friend who strums a bit. Bit of a poisoned chalice that one: it has a bit of belly bulge and never did have decent tuners, so I'm not sure how much pleasure he'll get from it.

Just gave my buddy a walnut tilt back amp stand for his Fender Rumble 100, the same amp I have. It took me about an hour to put another one together to replace it.

Before that probably my custom thinline Telecaster when I stopped gigging with a Tele. It went to a friend who was looking to upgrade from his first electric. I consider it good Karma to give away instruments.

I'm a tech/luthier and sort of accumulate guitars that need some work that I fix up to give away to folks that need one but can't afford one. I met Ferdinand several years ago through church. He and his family are refugees from the Congo. I gave him his first guitar when he was 13. He is a senior in HS now... called me up a few weeks ago... he wants to start giving lessons to kids like him, and asked if I happened to have any guitars I could donate. I ended up giving him two electrics, a bass, an acoustic, a couple of practice amps, and a keyboard. He rewarded me with some youtubes of him and his students playing together. What a great kid!

Harmony H1260.

Gave it to my brother when he was going through a tough stretch and mentioned he no longer owned an acoustic.

That's no time to not have a ready, easily persuaded companion.

Sweet guitar, glad it helped.
