Default Any opinions on Furch Yellow OM-CR?

I'm considering buying the Furch Yellow OM-CR but was wondering if anyone out there had tried this model.

It's impossible to try them at the moment, and there are very few audio examples of this model, so any opinions would be most welcome!

In my not so humble biased opinion, Furch OMs are maybe the best acoustics out there.

In all seriousness, they are excellently made, look amazing, and sound great. I’m not familiar with the model you are interested in. My Vintage OM34sr is probably the best guitar I own. We have three Furch guitars altogether, two of which are OMs (plus a 12-string dreadnought) and I can easily see us getting another in the future.

Thank you for your reply! I've heard a lot of good things about the OM34. The Yellow model that I'm looking at used to be called the OM23 CR.

It's the Cedar/Rosewood combination in the Furch OM that I'm curious about. I've only ever played the spruce-topped models.

Default Color me red

I have a Red Plus Orchestra cutaway, so two levels up from Yellow. The biggest differences are some detailing bling and the top and back are both voiced.

Overall, Furch is killing it right now. While I went with a Red for several reasons I would not have been disappointed at all in the Yellow.

My Cedar/Rosewood is really balanced, lots of richness to the tone, not at all brassy on the B and E. To me, it has a warmer tone than what I've experienced with spruce.

Furch Cedar topped guitars are some of the sweetest and most responsive guitars I've ever played. You can't go wrong with those!

You are in good hands with Furch. I personally have never heard a bad one. High marks for a consistently good product delivered from that company. They are not like a Martin or similar where 7 out of 10 tried could be not great. They use some modern equivalent of a tap tuning like standard, so you have some sense that the sound produced by a given Furch guitar will not randomly be good by some miracle. For this reason they are by default more or less a known quantity. Everything I have read says this, people I know who owns them say this, and my own experience with approx 15 guitars over time says this. Consistently impressive. You could do worse.

Good luck

Mine should be arriving over the coming weeks. Been admiring them for years and finally pulled the trigger.

Congrats

Default It's not just the sound of the guitar that has to be right

Now that you're joining the club, you have to have the guts and refinement to pronounce it correctly.

It is not "firch" like "birch." It is "foourck" -- largely skipping over the "r" and rolling the "k" as if you were about to launch some spittle.

Give it a try...

Again...

There you go...

Thank you. It should be here over the next couple of days. The shop I ordered it from had one in stock.

Just tried that. Sounds like I'm swearing under my breath. I might go for the incorrect pronunciation when I'm in public.
