Set up for acoustic slide
I have an older Kay guitar that I would like to dedicate to slide only. I am prepared to cut a new saddle and nut for this purpose. As it is right now the nuts slots are too low even for fingering.
What measurements at the nut or first fret and the 12th fret are suggested for a combination of slide and some fingering? Thanks

When you say slide, are you referring to bottleneck style, or Hawaiian/Dobro style?
I have a National that I use for bottleneck style. I have i set up with the same action as all my flattops - 100/110" bass to .075 - .080" treble. I use mediums with a .017" on the 1st (playnig n D - DADf#ad) Hawiian/Dobro - higher but pretty much the same gauge.
