Thank you VERY much! The photo of them 00 and 00cjr side by side confirmed that the 000cjr is smaller than the 00.

Maury's says about 000jr:

Lower bout depth 3 7/8" (same as 00)
Waist depth 3 3/4" (same as 00)
Lower bout width 14"
Upper bout width 10 5/8"
Body length 17 3/4

Johnson and Boak's Technical Reference says this about a 00 14 fret

Lower bout depth 4 1/8"
Waist depth - not listed
Lower bout width 13 5/16"
Upper bout width 10 7/8"
Body length 18 7/8"

Martin's current website says about a 00 14 fret

Lower bout depth 4 1/8"
Waist depth - not listed
Lower bout width 14 5/16"
Upper bout width - not listed
Body length 18 7/8"

So it looks like the body is a good deal shorter than a 00, but Martin can't agree on the width of the lower bout of it's 00

Small and Portable = long to moderate distance travel. If I'm driving 3 blocks who cares how small the guitar is.

Plus it's solid wood. I've cracked guitars trying to keep them humidified in a gig bag. I'd never even consider this guitar without a properly fitted hard case.

Mine arrived late yesterday and wasn’t particularly blown away by this little guy. BUT, I had a set of elixir strings laying around and decided to give it a shot before I wrote this travel guitar off. The fresh strings, who knows how long the originals have been on there, made it come alive! I regret nothing after the fresh strings! Here it is next to my DC aura GT.

Hey MaurysMusic,

Could you do us a favor and post some pictures and confirm the specs compared to a GS Mini?

I think many people will consider the two as a travel guitar. Based on my measurements and comparison to yours, I have the following:

000Cjr dimensions:
Lower bout depth: 3 7/8"
Waist depth: 3 3/4"
Lower bout width: 14"
Upper bout width: 10 5/8"
Body length: 17 3/4"
Total length: 37 1/8"
Nut width: 1 3/4"
Scale length: 24"

GS Mini dimensions
Lower bout depth: 3 5/8"
Waist depth:
Lower bout width: 14 3/8"
Upper bout width: 10"
Body length: 17 5/8"
Total length: 37"
Nut width: 1 11/16"
Scale length: 23.5"

Seems to be mighty close between the two, and with +0.5" scale length on the Martin, it only comes out to +1/8" overall length

Based on this, and what Music Villa kind of implied in their review of it, it sounds like Martin didn't do this guitar any favors by putting the Retro Monels on it. Mine arrived this morning and is waiting for me at home. I'm going to do a string comparison and see what the difference is.

Were your Elixirs 80/20 or PBs?

I'm sorry, but we don't carry Taylors.

It's not. The fretboard is Richlite. Not wood at all...

Many manufacturers are going that route now. My expensive instrument uses a Richlite fingerboard. Have you used one?

Don't be obstinate. When folks say "solid wood," they are referring to the body. No guitar is all-solid in the way you are suggesting... frets, tuning machines, screws, strings... and, yes, fingerboards.
