I have an All Star team (see signature line) that is in flux without a trade deadline. As long as I can still be in the game, my team may change.

I like variety in my guitars so I am not exactly brand loyal. I did however purchase a Bedell recently over a Martin

I guess I don't have a team. I use the tools needed for the period of work I was doing. At times, all Martins. Then, mostly N. Irish guitars for the tone and ... well ... they're great. Currently, I have a mix of Martin, custom builds, N. Irish and Gibson. I have brought in others that NEVER remained and would never cause me to sell a single Martin.

I'm not a brand loyalist so buying any particular brand never struck me as switching anything. I'm giving them my money, I don't owe them anything, especially not loyalty.

Sweet guitars! I have the same Taylor and recently played it at a guitar store after some repairs against some new Martins and I wasn't feeling like it was lacking much. Not completely fair with 22 years of play I guess.

How do you compare the sound of your 710 to the Martin HD28(I think)?

I'm pretty much no longer a "team player"!

Taylor Big Baby did it for me. I think Tayors entry level stuff is great.

Martin man from about 1973 until 1996, when I realised that I needed wide neck dread. No Martin D18/28/35s to be had.

In '99 I was shown a Collings Ds2h - team change.

Four dreads, a 000 and an 00, between 1999 and 2023.

I have a '64 rebuilt Martin D12-20 but I wish Collings would make their version - I'#d swap in a heartbeat.

Ever since Junior High days roughly 5 decades ago, I always thought my dream guitar was the Martin D28 (or later on the HD28, HD28V). But now when I am enjoying my Breedlove Revival Deluxe at local bluegrass jams and I hear it and also hear the D28s being played by others, I wonder how I got so lucky to have my Revival.

I had decided many years ago that the Canadian luthier scene was something I would support. But I have always wanted a a Gibson AJ more than any guitar I own. I’ve almost bought one many times and I still shop for them. I’ll never say never but so far I’m still loyal to the team.

I still like my Los Angeles Dodgers, though. A Woodrow Dodgers guitar:

For me, the guitar that almost made me switch is a Martin HD-28.

I've always been on the mahogany "team". I did have one rosewood Pono dread that I really liked, but 90% of the time, when I picked a guitar I liked it had mahogany back and sides.

Recently my D18 went to the shop for a binding repair, and was in for almost 9 months. While I was without it, I wanted something to fill the Martin dread hole, and found a used HD-28 available locally at a good price. I played it a bit, liked it, and took it home.

Over the past few months, I played it a bunch, took it to jams, played all kinds of music on it, and the more I played it, the more I liked the HD-28.

Well, today I finally got my D18 back and man, just a few strums and I thought "wow, I've been missing that sound!"

HD-28 is still a great guitar, but I think I'm a mahogany man forever.

I'm not really a Martin guy, but I've played a couple of J-40s, plus a J-15 that have almost come home with me.

Exactly. I once had a Taylor guy start to argue with me on a checkout line because I was wearing a Martin jacket. He didn't know I also had a Taylor.

If you have a team, enjoy it. For me, there ain't no teams. Not only in terms of brand names but also as to what kind of guitar I need if I play a certain style, which also seems to be important in some circles. Not to me.
