I actually played this guitar at the Holy Grail show, its a beautiful guitar that sounds fantastic! Jamie did a fantastic job here

As far as I’m aware, the bog oak is stained that colour by the peat; or, rather, being buried in it for 3000+ years!. There’s a piece on the headstock face that has a sort of gradient effect going on; the darker part would have been closer to the outside of the original piece of timber and as a consequence was stained more by the peat. You’re absolutely right - it does look like a piece of ebony.
