Default best guitar ever played!!

Yesterday my son and I had a great "guitar" day. He had a birthday and his granny gave him a thousand dollars and written on the check it said "spend this at a guitar store!!"...so, we headed out to Nashville. Hit Carter Vintage, then on to Gruhn's, then Guitar Center (where my son finally bought his John Mayer Strat!) then to Artisans! At Artisans I played 3 of the best guitars I've ever held. One was a Santa Cruz Vintage Southerner, then next was a Bourgeois mahog/adi that had been "tortified"..oh my goodness..what that process does to a guitar..then, they handed be a Huss & Dalton with the same process, adi top, hide glue, "sinker" mahog!!....it is officially the best sounding guitar on the planet!!!!...if my buddy buys my Collings..I will put it on lay a way!!..and have a couple more for sale!!...it's $$$$$. It was hands down the best guitar I've ever held in my lap!...staff there is great too!...then we moved on to the Guitar Center Grand Opening at Cool Springs (12 miles south of the Nashville Guitar Center)...7-pm had at least 300 people in a line to get in with an 80's cover band playing in the parking lot...gave away a lot of good stuff (including a strat and a $5000 Les Paul)..I won a $250 gift card and walked into the store and got an LR Baggs Venue...been wanting one since it came out...got it for the card + $50 and tax also got a free hat and two free tee shirts!!...great guitar day!!!!

Given the good luck you had yesterday, you should have bought PowerBall tickets too!....

Interesting we all seem to have the "best guitar on the planet"........

What size was the H&D sinker mahogany? I briefly owned a Martin custom shop hide glue D-18GE sinker mahogany and it was a monster!! Big mahogany fan here, sounds like you had a fun day and may be spending some money!!!

Wow, you DID have a good day! How wonderful! Those guitars at Artisans must be really terrific; I would love to try one of the new guitars made with the terrified wood. I've not had a chance yet.

Thanks for sharing your day!

Sounds like a great day! I believe you about the H&D at Artisan. I have a Martin CS D18-12 made with Sinker Mahogany and the sound is just magical. My friend has an H&D TDR Custom with the "cooked" top and it is also an amazing guitar.
I can imagine the combination of Sinker and Cooked top would be pretty sweet.

Awesome story, so great that you and your son have the same passion for guitars, and it seems like he has an awesome grandma as well. Wish your son happy birthday from us.

Hi $W...

Well that sounds like a great day!

I do want to warn you that you have stepped into a very deep hole, and a most pleasant one. Once a guitar beckons you to bring it home, and you give it a second…third…fourth…thought and a post on AGF, they seldom quit calling…

Sounds like a great day with your son. Very cool that you have that in comment with him and can share the passion and joy.

Sounds like a great day with the son. I've played a lot of fantastic guitars. I'm not sure I can say which is/was best.
