Default South Wind - Tony Yamamoto high-tuned 12-string

Tony Yamamoto brought by his latest creation for me to check out. This is #3 of the "Reverie" model he designed for me a few years ago, a tiny 12-string, with a scale that's the equivalent of being capo V. This one is Paulownia and Macassar Ebony, with a 54mm (2.1 inches) neck width at the nut, which I find very comfortable for this guitar. The guitar is available at the moment, and will likely show up at Mighty Fine Guitars in the near future.

I shot a quick demo this morning:

Wow Doug!

That is like a whole new stringed instrument! What a magic sound, especially the way you play that lovely piece! Thanks for posting this! What a delightful piece!

The nut width is 54mm(2 1/8"). I really like it.

Thanks, everyone, yes, this is a really fun guitar, it's a whole different experience, and interesting to try different tunes and see how they come out. It just creates a entirely new flavor.

That was beautiful, Doug. You and Tony make a great team. Wow - yet another reason to go to Mighty Fine Guitars.

What a gorgeous sound that is, Doug. So apt for the tune you are playing. It is slightly tending towards a harpsichord but warmer and with more sustain. Super!

Fabulous. This is not the first of Mr. Yamamoto's unique designs that I have found quite intriguing.

One hecka sweet combo of player, instrument, and song. And arrangement. And recording. And video. In other words, just your basic Doug Young production.
