Perhaps the question to Enya customer service could be sent again reframed to indicate that the customer is basing a decision on the future availability and replacability of the battery pack?

It’s likely that the 16.8 volt battery cell or pack is a commonly available lithium item with a long service life. Which indicates future replacability.

Companies like to manage potential lithium fire hazards through careful design and by controlling replacement parts (including possible upgrades).

Enya electronics designers would select a stock battery:
- commonly available for gadgets such as cell phones, drones, Bluetooth speakers, vacuum cleaners, bicycles, etc
- either a single cell, or a module containing two or more cells
- imbedded circuits to avoid lithium fire hazard by managing safe charging and managing safe usage/environment factors.

Electronics in the NEXG2 are similar to a smartphone + imbedded Bluetooth speaker:
- rechargeable battery pack
- chips for computing and memory
- LED mini display
- pickup from strings
- Bluetooth to Enya singer microphone
- amplifier to internal 50 watt speaker assembly
- 1/4 inch output to external amplifiers

Given the similarities to smartphones the NEXG and NEXG2 were possibly designed by a team with smartphone level expertise and the batteries selected based on team experience.

The NEXG2 manual says the battery is 16.8volts 2600 milliamp/hours.

Internet search for ‘16.8 V lithium battery pack’ returns lots of replacement batteries for various devices. (Some day someone with skills and warranty tolerance might peek and report on the battery component).
