Why are used Alvarez parlor guitars so hard to find?

Because they are good. You'll have to pry mine out of my cold, hard fingers,

I have to agree with TBman. The are fun little guitars. Well-made, they sound good.

I have had students with them. They love 'em.

Guitar Center has a new Alvarez Parlor that does not have a slotted headstock. I think it may be made for GC only. Saw one at local GC. It seemed pretty nice.
I don't know much more about it.

Its a parlor. It doesn't take much room. They are good from the ones I have played, and you arent getting much for them used. Why sell?

My opinion.

I cannot think of a local retailer around here that carries Alvarez in stock, at least that I've noticed. Several other brands of parlor sized guitars are routinely available however, especially Godin and family (Seagull, Norman, Art & Lutherie, Simon & Patrick).

I've been duly impressed with all of the Alvarez models that I've tried over the years, but the only one I ever bought was the ABT610 baritone jumbo that MF had on sale last year (and since). And welcome!

Thank you for your replies. I have been searching for an Alvarez AP66SB and have only ran across one for sale. May settle for a new AP66SHB in the near future.

I just put an AP66SB on consignment at Tall Toad in Petaluma, CA. Check their website if you haven’t already gotten one.
I put it up for sale since I also have an MAP66shb. I hope you find one as they are great little guitars.

Best,
Jayne

I checked their web site but the guitar wasn't listed. I'll give them a call when they are open. Thanks for the heads-up.

It is true that they have a much bigger inventory then makes it to the website. I hope it works out.

Glad you were able to get it. It is a nice little guitar. Another thing that I love about this forum.

Best,
Jayne
