Default NAD! But, with a slight issue...

So, I just picked up a used Fender 68 Deluxe Silver Face Custom. Very nice tones! This is a 2016 model. I don't often use tremolo, so it's not a big issue, but when the tremolo is switched on, it has a moderately loud wump, wump, wump sound. I thought it might be the switch, but it's not. Again, not a huge issue since I can just keep the tremolo switched off, but I was wondering if any of you have encountered that?

I posted the question on TDPRI and was told to change the tube. I spoke to an amp tech and he said it's likely a capacitor.

Thoughts?

I own one and don't have that problem.
I would first change the tube.
No bais needed so just swap out the tube.

it didn't make that sound when you tried it? can you contact the place where you bought it? are you sure that you are just not used to tremolo?

probably preamp tube but if not then most likely a fairly easy cap to replace. no need for BIAS.

play music!

Yes it did, but everything else works perfectly and I very rarely use tremolo. The price was good as well. Right now I'm leaning toward just leaving it alone.

Your tech is right. Fender Service Bulletin 9 covers the fix, which is to solder in a small cap and relocate a wire to shush the noise. Doesn't take long to do once the chassis is out, either.

What's going on is the tremolo circuit is quite noisy, and that noise is easily picked up by signal wiring in the amp in close proximity. The cap grounds off most of the noise, and moving the wire fixes the proximity issue.
