Default The World's First Casimi C3 Signature in “The Tree” Incoming!

Ever since reading about the legendary 100ft tall magnificent Mahogany tree that was felled in 1965 and first holding and playing Jason Kostal's Modified Dreadnought No. 32, to say we here at TNAG have been a little obsessed by this incredible tonewood is an understatement. Both tonally and visually, 'The Tree' Mahogany, as it has become known, has a magical quality that is hard to capture in words.

One of the major joys of working in this wonderful industry of ours is that we get to spec out our dream guitars on a daily basis. And, trust me, it never gets dull! Last year we saw some utterly inspiring instruments come through the TNAG showroom here in London, including a jaw-dropping Greenfield G2 in The Tree.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with this mysterious tonewood, here is a little info:

First found in 1965 in the former British Honduras’ Chiquibul Jungle (now Belize) by a group of loggers, the 100ft long and 10ft diameter tree, standing with great pride and perseverance, was felled in the hope of transporting it to the closest mill 200 miles away. However, unable to move the majority of this giant tree, it was left resting in a ravine.

Finally, 18 years later, the remains of the tree were found and opened up to reveal the rarest of all figured Mahoganies. So rare that the cause of the grain is not actually known and is considered to be a genetic defect. Hence, to this day, it is the only one in the world!

For the guitar world, the legend of 'The Tree' really begins in the late 1970s, just after the birth of the boutique-guitar movement. A wood importer by the name of Robert Novak was told by a luthier friend about this stunning felled and incredibly blistered Mahogany tree. He and his crew then set out over the course of 12 days to mill and saw every possible piece they could. 'The Tree' is now the most sought after wood in the world.

Continuing our quest to bring in the very best in modern lutherie, this year we are pulling out all the stops, and the gauntlet starts with guitar juggernaut Casimi Guitars! As such, we are delighted to announce the world's first Casimi C3 Signature in The Tree! Build commences in February 2018 with an October Delivery!
