Hey, Jim. The UREI 813 monitors I use are referred to as "813B/C." The "B" models were built when UREI was a stand-alone company and then JBL bought UREI. Under JBL the monitors were redesigned, with new, cast aluminum speaker frames and slight modifications to the crossovers and tweeters. The result was the 813C. However, in the overlap, JBL/UREI put out some 813s with the modified crossovers and tweeters that used up the original stamped steel frames from UREI. Those are known as the "UREI 813B/C." The 813B/C speakers I use at work date from 1989, during the overlap, and the 811C speakers at home date from 1991, after the overlap.
