Finished it up for now, there’s some imperfections but it plays really nice, next time I’ll get a few things down better but for a first attempt...overall this guitar sounds and plays really nice! Tru oil finish, I may still go over a few spots. As long as everything stays together we are good! Haha! IMG_0979.jpg

Definetly a nice aged look to the top

thanks Steve... I wasn't sure how the top would come out with the Tru Oil but it's really starting to look better each day.

Yeah that is a great looking top for sure.

Did you modify the upper bout? Could be the camera angle but it doesn't look as wide as an 000.

No, it seems to be the same measurement as a 000-28VS (12 fret). Looks a lot like it as well. Pretty sure that’s what the kit is based on.

The 12 fret Martin bodies are narrower in the upper bout than 14 fret versions, but that photo angle exaggerates the effect.
Great looking top!

The 12 fret 00 and 000 are perfect shapes, and that top looks very cool! Give us more pics so we can point out imperfections (It'll make us feel better!)

Hi Monts, I have looked carefully at the additional pics.

Here is my official , critical verdict .....

Way cool!

Seriously, that is a beautiful design (OK that's Martin) and you have made a lovely guitar!

Well done! (I have to buy mine ready made !)

And as for the sound, while I can’t be certain because I have not played one, but everything I’ve read about the 000-28VS seems similar to this guitar.

Ah it's a 12 fretter, I overlooked that. Great looking guitar for sure.

The top and the finish sure complement each other nicely. Doesn't do a bit of harm that the top is showing bold silking, too. Gorgeous!
