Nah, she is to be a unique voice. The inside joke folks is, Neil brings over a varied collection of CD's to play while we build. On oh... the 4th Reggie song or whenever whatever music gets to eating my brain I start singing Family Guys / Quagmires Giggity song. Next disc? Yep, next disc. Lol
Quagmire would be a cool name. But, the Dictionary definition sucks. Martin, I will save Pavaroti for the deep bodied model |

When is your birthday? You could name it Gemini Cricket. (Hey, I don't claim to be a writer.)

We just got back from a mini vacation. We had a ball at a noisy indoor waterpark, it was sooooo nice to get back to the quiet of the shop for a few hours before bed.
Since the last post: A few days ago; I cleaned up the Neck Block slot. My first and I missed the sizing pretty bad. Never again will I make me reslot a neck slot on the body! That vow goes on the F file! Started fitting the neck. There. Done....NOT I got the Fret Board cut out of some stunning BLACK Ebony. Saving all the dust I could. I pulled out the small collection of Inlay I have and decided on this theme. So small are the pieces I had to rubber cement them down to draw in their location. I did the math. But, I wanted to eyeball it also. Then a date with a Dremel and some 3x glasses Also, I started roughing out the Floating Bridge. Hey! There is a confounded Bridge! Then this dude dropped by and took over the shop till Midnight! After Neil left the last thing I did the other day was sand down most of the saddle. MAN THAT STINKS like a Mad Dentists office! Happy to leave the shop after that. |

So, last night the Soul of the guitar reviled its self while sanding. I got the back down to a smooth 400. I wiped off the dust. My little Nikon was down at the house so I snapped a picture with my iPhone. The images on the phone are more contrasty than real life and staring at the screen I saw a face. Then another, then another. I had my wife come in the shop. Bam she saw a face without me saying why I asked her up. But, she saw a completely different face. We both agree its a Guy.
At first the face looked to me like Dudley DoRight, or Bruce Campell. Then I saw a full face and a Mane. A Lion Mane. Can you see it? Or, what do you see? |

Had to leave the face post to its own.
After a coat of Shellac and a bump of contrast in Photoshop. The bridge is tiny. Now even smaller..... I was inspired at the last moment. |

Aw man, you covered over the aromatic experience of western red cedar chips that I spewed all over the back wall? Oh well, I have to do 3 more channels anyway.

Builders DO NOT order the Tenor Trapeze off of eBay!
I looked and looked for a 4 string Trapeze. I was kinda steered away from Banjo Trapezes as a possible lack of strength. So, I ordered the ONE that was on eBay (or anywhere for that matter) ITS FREAKIN HUGE. I bought some Brass bar stock today. I guess I will make my own. Metal working tips are welcome!

Welp. Here is my first metal work in years.......
Drawing of right size with the Monster I bought. I saw another period trapeze on a Regal Tenor where the string mount was below the bout line. So, I came up with my own design stealing ideas from both. Here are the holes I started cutting the shape with Dremel cutters. But, I only had 2 and they died quick. So, I cut the rest of the shape with using the drill to connect holes. Done but before buffing LOL |
