Seymour Duncan Power Stage 170
So while putting the Yamaha THD 100 HD Dual package together, I ended up with a sweet looking, decent sounding Line 6 4x12 half stack, but nothing [dedicated only to that purpose] to run it. My Bugera Infinium V22 does push it nicely though, as does the THD 100.
Nevertheless, there is a little space on my large pedal board and I've always thought about getting a Quilter Labs monoblock amp or similar. In my research, I ran across the Seymour Duncan Power Stage 170, 200 and 700. Based on reviews, the 170 should be good for my purposes. I found a used on GC. Can't believe it's $28 to ship it, but hey it's still about $100 off retail so I'll take it. Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions? I plan on going out the parallel input/output of the last pedal in my chain [a DI box] with a short jumper to the amp, and then of course, use a speaker wire 1/4" to 1/"4" from the amp to the cab.

It IS LOUD. I like loud. At 12 o'clock it rattles stuff off walls (volume). At 1, my ears hurt. At 2, it melted my face. It goes to 5:30
For anyone looking for a compact, clean pedal sized amp, I highly recommend the SD Power Stage 170!!!

Hey YamahaGuy, I'm not familiar with the Seymour Duncan Power Stage but I know that there are similar offerings like that from other manufacturers as well. I'm surprised I don't own something like that to be a backup, such as the Traynor Quarterhorse (although that's only 25 watts).
Easy and convenient to carry. |
