Talking I Did a Thing....Again :>

Well, itís all your fault, really. Too many posts of beautiful guitars and conversations about GAS. And I realized that I am into my 5th month as a beginner guitarist and have slacked off on my acquisitions!

It was a long, torturous road, but I finally decided that I need to mess around a bit with an electric guitar <gasp>. Is it silly for a 58 year old beginner woman to want an electric guitar? Purely rhetorical, I know.

Anyway, plunked down my money this morning, but we are away, so itís on hold for me until early February when I call and tell the shop to ship.

Thereís a NGD coming soon!

Absolutely not!

I have one too. Got it last year to experiment with...and an amp. It is a (used) Ibanez ARZIR20FB-DBS. No regrets!

However, as much fun as it is, I prefer acoustic.

As an acoustic player I thought it would be fun to have an electric. I have since bought and sold three. Waste of my time and money. They just weren't for me. I hope you have better luck.

Some guys invited me to practice with them on Thursday afternoons a
couple of years ago. I didn't know nothin', I just ordered a SG "faded"
on reverb and started playing...

After about a year, I learned being that close to the drums was giving
me tinnitus...

Very cool! Thatís the original shape/type that first interested me...solid body, singe cut, like a Les Paul. Iíve since decided on a totally different animal. So so SO excited!

Default I Did a Thing....Again :>

Ahh
Called over by the dark side!
Losing the purity of acoustic. It is a sad road
First an acoustic
Then acoustic electric
Then acoustic cut away
And finally electric!
Confess...were you lured by a Les Paul or a Stratocaster ?
We on the light side will patiently wait for you to come back!!

Good for you! I didnít buy my first electric until I was 68...a sweet, new Fender Strat. But it didnít last long. I realized right away how different playing an electric is from playing an acoustic. Not to mention what a deep and expensive rabbit hole the amps/pedal thing is. So rather than launch into a whole new musical orbit that would conflict with the time I still need to put into my acoustic playing (if I ever wanna be good) that gorgeous Strat was quickly sold. Iím recommitted to the simpler life of acoustics. Hereís hoping your launch into the electric life goes smoother.

I don't play my electrics much, but it's nice to have them around when the mood strikes...
