Firewire Focusrite Saffire LE, new Macbook with Thunderbolt
Hi all
I haven't done much recording in the past five years, but I've been feeling a bit of a resurgence lately and would like to get back into it. Problem: I have a Focusrite Saffire LE firewire interface, and my new MacBook only has a Thunderbolt port. Can these two still work together through adapters, or should I get a new interface? How far have interfaces come in the past five or six years? The Saffire LE was a 96/khz interface with two focusrite pre's. |

Thanks, Phil. Some of the reading I did mentioned that Thunderbolt to firewire adapter setups don't supply much power. That's another area of concern, I suppose. Powering the unit.
