Guild T50 SB advice
I am looking at buying a Guild T50 SB semi hollow body from I assume the late 60's. I tried to look up the serial number on it but it hasn't appeared on any lists I have found. Could this be a fake, or are the serial number lists not complete? Also it is in okay condition, definitely not perfect, What would be a reasonable price?

If SB is the start of the serial #, then that's an S100, which is a different animal. A T50 should have EB ####. The seller is mistaking the E for an S (easy to do with Guilds hand written labels.)
Which chart are you looking at? Try this one. A late '60s T50 should be within the range of EB101 to EB652. Earlier or later years won't have the EB, as Guild was using the same number sequence for every model.

I'm thinking that he's looking at the finish designation, not the serial number prefix: T-50 SB denoting sunburst finish (TMK the most common of the T-50 finishes) on the interior label, rather than S-100 model status. Since Guilds are well off the forgers' radar I wouldn't worry about the authenticity, other than the possibility of replaced parts (pickup/tuners/controls); in "okay condition" (definite signs of use but all-original, well-maintained, and structurally sound) I'd put it in the $700-900 range sight unseen...

For the record, a Guild T-50 is a laminated, but fully hollow archtop.

I paid 450 for one with some wear, but original parts. No case. I got it off craigslist a few weeks ago.
