Default Spohn guitars - two guitars on their way

Hey guys!

I haven't shared my work for quite a while so I thought you might be interested in some updates.

I opened up a new shop in my hometown in October and started two new build.
Here is a picture of my shop. It is small but it works pretty good.

The first guitar I started is my 00 model.
The top is made of german spruce, back and sides are Honduran mahogany.

And the second guitar is my new Mod-D model out of Swiss moonspruce and some awesome Madagascar rosewood.

Wait until you see the inlays that are coming in the next weeks.

More pictures are coming soon!

Great photos! That is a very tight waist on the 00. Is that an aesthetic decision or a tonal one? Or both?

Thanks for sharing. We love build threads here!

Thank you Marcus! Unfortunately I have no picture of the inside of the back with some shellac on it. So we have to wait until the finish is on to see its actual color

It is black dyed maple. It keeps my rim lighter in weight than ebony and is still black.

Thank you Juston! Honestly it was an aesthetic decision first but I built a few instruments now with a very tight waist and tonally it works great too.
