Did you know? — Bose’s Tonematch T1 fits perfectly atop the S1 Pro
I guess this shouldn’t surprise me, but after spending about an hour trying to configure a little bracket for my S1 Pro stand, it occurred to me that, gosh, maybe it’ll just be able to sit on top of the S1. Well, yeah, it does — absolutely perfectly. The little rubber feet on the bottom of the Tonematch align perfectly with the inset on top of the S1. Those Bose people think of everything.
Is this news to anyone else, or am I the last one to figure this out?

Wow.
I would have never considered doing this but I just tried, and you're right. The fit is too perfect to be an accident. Yes, Bose does a great job of brainstorming up thoughtful and outside-the-box products. Last edited by Tico; 06-15-2019 at 01:09 PM. |

Are they compatibly working together?

Well I’ve heard that they absolutely do, and I tried them together today at a gig for the very first time and had about two minutes to dial in a decent sound, which I did. I was getting a bit of low-end distortion or something sometimes that I’ve never heard before but it was minimal, and with the range of control that the Tonematch has, I doubt it will be an issue once I have a chance to tweak things.

Apparently that cutout on top of the S1 Pro can serve two purposes. 1. Space for your hand around the carrying handle. 2. It also "happens" to be the perfect dimensions to securely hold the four rubber foot pads of Bose's T1 ToneMatch mixer. Once in place the mixer won't slide off. Clever! They say a picture's worth a thousand words. I took these so folks who don't own this gear can more easily visualize what we're talking about. That’s cool. I never thought of trying that! I use a pair of S1s for my duo gigs and this will be great. |

I ran the numbers, and according to my calculations, the chances of the T1 fitting perfectly like this atop the S1Pro being a random occurrence are about 80-trillion-to-one. I think they planned it this way. Clever rascals, those Bozites...

Funny thing is, they stopped making the T1 when the S1 came out. They launched the T4 and T8 the same time.
They need to make a new T1 with battery power for just this purpose. |

Pretty neat, thanks for sharing. I've got an S1 out for delivery and showing up tomorrow on my door. I'm going to be replacing a QSC K8.2 with it. Just curious, as an L1M2 and Tonematch user myself, does the T1 fall out if you angle the speaker for busking? I wonder if the rubber feet will keep it from sliding off, especially if there are plugged in cords? Cheers.

There was a guy on eBay selling a little platform for that, 3D printed. Very simple, a cutout to fit over the array to keep it in place, sitting on a little platform. Don't have the time to check, could still be there.

I just checked and no, even with no cables connect to it the back, the T1 is not stable when the S1 is angled back. The T1's rubber feet are not high enough. |
