Default Flooded House

I came home Monday to a flooded home. The water supply line for a toilet split and flooded the house . According to the watermark, I had 7 inches of water. When I opened the door to the house it was like Niagara Falls

I have my Cargo and Legacy on floor stands in the living room. No worries- I just toweled them dry. The legacy has electronics but it appears to be okay.

I had my Cordoba C9 on a stand last week and just by chance decided to put it back in its case and in the closet before I left for Wanee. The closet has a shelf high enough to keep my other guitars out of the water.

Moral to the story- if you keep your guitars close to the floor, make sure they're carbon fiber

Wow. Really sad story with a small silver lining. Good for you for having a positive attitude.

A few years ago week came home to find a frantic puppy in the toilet trying to get away from a flood caused by her having chewed through the freshwater supply hose to the toilet tank. Over three hours the flood had gone all the way out to the living room and kitchen with one to two inches throughout. There weren't any instruments in the line of fire but it left a real mess.

I only wish I had been there to see the face of the puppy when she broke through the line...

Sorry to hear about the flood. Hope things get put back to normal quickly.

One thing: if there's any chance the electronics got wet in the Legacy, I would recommend pulling the batteries and not allowing power to the preamp for several days. If electronics get wet, they will often survive if they're not powered up.

Sorry to hear this. A lot of people around here feel your pain. Floods here in Central IL. This is just a few towns over from me in London Mills, IL. They evacuated the whole town! And to make it worse this is river water, so it will leave a ton of mud behind too..

Lots of folks a lot worse off than me.

I removed the battery from my legacy's electronics- I appreciate the tip!

I didn't mean to imply that. The thread just reminded me of the floods here. My girlfriend had about 2 ft in the basement. Thankfully it wasnt river water though, so no mud. Did you get your mess all cleaned up?

Yes, I did- thanks for asking! I lost carpet but nothing else of any value and nothing near & dear- like my guitars .

I hope your girlfriend, neighbors, and friends recover.
