After changing strings on my 120, I noticed a couple rollers are cracked pretty good. Has anyone ever changed the rollers on an old Yamaha classical?

I've changed them on my CG171SF. No problems. It had the typical 35mm (1-3/8") roller spacing so I installed Gotohs.

You're talking about the old 120 that came in the mid-60's though, right? You might want to just take measurements and compare them to the specs of tuning machines on StewMac.

A 2007 Prudencio Saez that I upgraded had the right spacings but the roller holes were too small. Its original tuning machines that were similar to those on LaPatries. I had to enlarge the holes with a hand reamer. Easy job.

Here's the upgrade that I did to my Yamaha C40 beater.

Yes, it is an old 120 from the 60's. Thanks for the information. Next time I change the strings, I'll have a go at changing the rollers.
