After changing strings on my 120, I noticed a couple rollers are cracked pretty good. Has anyone ever changed the rollers on an old Yamaha classical?

You're talking about the old 120 that came in the mid-60's though, right? You might want to just take measurements and compare them to the specs of tuning machines on StewMac. A 2007 Prudencio Saez that I upgraded had the right spacings but the roller holes were too small. Its original tuning machines that were similar to those on LaPatries. I had to enlarge the holes with a hand reamer. Easy job. Here's the upgrade that I did to my Yamaha C40 beater. |

I have changed them on some of my old Yamahas...not a problem, just picked up new sets in a local guitar store...but I`m in Japan.

Yes, it is an old 120 from the 60's. Thanks for the information. Next time I change the strings, I'll have a go at changing the rollers.
